Background
Born and raised in Rochester, NY; Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Boston College, MBA in Marketing from Tulane University. In 1981, Mark became an IBM accounts systems representative and became an agent territory manager helping to develop strategies for lead generation for both IBM agents and value-added resellers. In 1982, Rookie of the Year in the Southern Region also became a Golden Circle award winner.
Successful Entrepreneur
Mark voluntarily left IBM and became co-founder and President of Communiqué, a New Orleans-based Internet Service Provider in 1994. Communiqué quickly achieved rapid success and generated 10,000 users before being purchased in late 1997.
Founder
Mark started EyeOnet LLC in 1998, which merged with Orange Twine in 2000, and became Chairman of the Board. In 2002, Mark became President of the Louisiana Technology Council (LTC) with the goal of making Louisiana the Technology Capital of the South®. He served as LTC’s President for 10 years and helped Louisiana go from 49th to 32nd in technology employment. Beginning in 2014, Mark started implementing and moderating successful CEO Round Tables through the Entrepreneurial Organization of Louisiana.
Leading Others
In 2011, through a cooperative joint venture with EFM Events, Mark helped create the Louisiana IT Symposium that brings together executive IT leaders and their direct reports for best practices. From 2004-2020, Mark appeared live on WWLTV’s monthly program called “Digital Gumbo,” which provided the latest developments in technology advancements and helped promote local technology companies throughout the region. He has also participated in numerous panel discussions
throughout his career in entrepreneurship and technology.
Leadership
In 2005, Mark was selected by the Governor’s office as Technology Leader of the Year for the State of Louisiana. Through his leadership, Louisiana became one of the top three states in the country for technology jobs and wage growth. In 2014, Mark became a Board member of the Entrepreneurial Organization (EO) of Louisiana as its Strategic Alliance Chair and shortly became EO of Louisiana’s Board Membership Chair. He helped EO of Louisiana become the fastest-growing Chapter in the country. In recognition of his volunteer success, in July 2019, EO of Louisiana presented Mark with its Marshall Klein Entrepreneur of the Year. He also received EO’s Global Award in Macau, China for Membership Excellence.
Programs for CEOs and Leadership Coaches
Mark reclaimed the name Communiqué for his business coaching and consulting firm to help entrepreneurs and organizations achieve and accelerate their growth and success through the development and implementation of effective strategies across all business functions via personalized coaching or participation in CEO Round tables. Since the implementation of his CEO Round Tables has been so successful, Mark created the CEO Roundtable Facilitator Playbook for leadership coaches to implement and provide the same success to other business leaders.
